2. The Sacred Art of the Thangka & Your Choice of Deity
What is a Thangka?
A Thangka is a traditional form of Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting. More than just decorative art, Thangkas are spiritual tools. They depict Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, or sacred mandalas and are used as objects of meditation, teaching aids, and a means to generate positive energy and blessings. This art scroll allows you to bring the beauty and spiritual power of this ancient tradition into your own space.
Please choose the sacred deity whose blessings resonate most with your heart:
-
Option A: The Medicine Buddha (药师佛) – The Supreme Healer
The Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) is the embodiment of healing. His radiant, deep blue form is the color of lapis lazuli, a stone long associated with healing power. He holds a bowl of medicinal nectar, symbolizing his power to cure all suffering, both physical and mental. Displaying his image is believed to eradicate sickness, promote health and longevity, and help overcome the inner poisons of attachment, hatred, and ignorance. He is a perfect guardian for health and well-being.
-
Option B: White Tara (白度母) – The Mother of Compassion & Long Life
White Tara is one of the most beloved deities in Tibetan Buddhism. As a female Bodhisattva, she represents the motherly aspect of compassion. Her pure white color signifies the absence of all impurity. She is depicted with seven eyes—on her hands, feet, and forehead—so that she may see all the suffering in the universe and offer her swift assistance. Her presence is a powerful blessing for long life, healing, and protection from harm. She brings a nurturing, gentle, and peaceful energy to any environment.
3. A Gift of Peace and Blessing
This sacred art scroll is a meaningful addition to any space and makes a profound gift.
For Yourself: A perfect focal point for your meditation space, yoga studio, home office, or any room where you wish to cultivate a sense of peace, clarity, and spiritual connection.
As a Thoughtful Gift:
- An ideal gift for a friend or family member on a spiritual journey or who practices meditation.
- A beautiful housewarming present to bless a new home with positive, sacred energy.

Choose the deity that calls to you and invite their sacred blessings and serene presence into your life.

Sacred Thangka-Style Art Scroll
A traditional Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting — silk-printed, wood-mounted, ready to bless your space. More than decoration, this is a sacred tool for meditation, teaching, and the generation of auspicious energy in your home.
What, exactly, is a Thangka?
A Thangka (Tibetan: ཐང་ཀ་) is a traditional form of Tibetan Buddhist scroll painting — but it is far more than decorative art. Thangkas are spiritual tools: depictions of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and sacred mandalas used for centuries as objects of meditation, teaching aids, and conduits for blessings. To hang a Thangka is not to hang a painting — it is to invite a sacred presence into your space.
